Client Assessment Matrices
In health and fitness, one major component that we are asked to do is establishing a plan for people. In this particular assignment we examined and completed a client assessment matrix on the FITT and PROS principles. We broke down the frequency, intensity, time, and type of exercise and then created a weekly chart as well.
Stress Management
In the project that was done for a course in stress management (HW410), we built an entire booklet of important learning points from each section of the course. Looking back over my notes in the notebook that I luckily saved, we covered a wide variety of topics and we broke down every section into three different parts; information to remember, the week’s assignment, and our journal entry. The topics covered were as follows:
- Nature of Stress
- Physiology of Stress
- Psychology of Stress
- Personality Traits and the Human Spirituality
- Coping Strategies
- Relaxation Techniques
- Nutrition and Stress
- Physical Exercise and Activity
- Applying Stress and Prevention in Your Professional Life
One thing that stuck out to me the most as a recurring theme throughout the project was the journal entry reflection. I put a lot of time and energy into my journal entries and felt as if I learned the most from those entries. Getting to practice different things, like meditation, then reflect on them was extremely beneficial. I kept a lot of those techniques and continue to use them today. It drove home the point that mindfulness is a major factor in stress management and is the real start of true behavior change.
